The doctors of Rama Sofat Hospital have been booked by the police for obstructing the I-T search operations. The culprits have been identified as the hospital owner of Dr Rama Sofat Hospital and Ruchi Test Tube Baby Centre, and the rest of his family, who also play an active role in the functioning of the hospital. The hospital is located on College Road, Civil Lines.
The FIR has been registered on the official complaint of Deputy Director, Income Tax, Investigation-1, Anurag Dhindsa, under Sections 218, 221, 222, 224, 351 and Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. In the FIR, it states that the search operations were conducted by the I-T Department on December 18, 2024, wherein the family not only hindered the search process but also gave threats of violence to the public servants engaged in the search operations.
It is important to note here that this case has been registered against the doctors of Dr. Rama Sofat Hospital and Ruchi Test Tube Baby Centre, not Dr. Sumita Sofat Hospital. Several people often confuse the two institutions with one another, but this FIR is not associated with Dr. Sumita Sofat Hospital in any capacity.
