Despite regular intercourse that obviously being unprotected, females are not able to conceive for 1 year or even more than that is called infertility. - Meeting of Doctor and couples are compulsory
In the meeting of doctors and couples, couples are generally asked details about themselves like:
-Are they having any kind of medical issues like diabetes, heart disease, etc.
-For how long are they trying to conceive?
-Have they taken any fertility treatment before?
-Are they having intercourse during fertile days?
- Ovarian Stimulation Therapy
In this stage of the procedure, the effort is put to gather as many eggs as possible from female ovaries because collecting eggs in good numbers increase the chances of fertilization.
- Egg-retrieval Process
This step is performed once the egg has grown to adequate size. Once the egg has obtained the desired size, it is taken out of the female ovaries through a surgical procedure. The surgery is completed within 15 minutes.
- Microinjection – Fusing egg with sperm
The retrieved egg is thoroughly examined under highly professional supervision. Then the egg is synthesized with the carefully examined and selected sperm. The infused egg is now called an embryo which is kept under constant observation to detect its development.
- Transferring Embryo to the uterus
This is the most crucial stage of the IVF Procedure. This is usually not painful. Once in a while, anesthesia is used. This step is performed when the embryo has been under constant observation for a period of 2 to 3 days. It involves the process of incorporating embryos into the uterus.
- Ensure embryo-hold in the uterus
After the egg is transferred, it becomes a matter of concern whether the uterus could hold the embryo and allow it to flourish. To ensure that patients are treated with the medications and drugs that would help the uterus to hold embryos.
- Pregnancy test
This is a very emotional stage for couples because to experience this very moment they have come so far in this journey of In Vitro Fertilisation. A pregnancy test is done twice
-First test is done on the 12th day of the menstrual cycle
-Second test is done on the 15th day of the Frozen cycle
Pregnancy Test is particularly done with Beta HCG if the fertilization is done through the IVF process.
