A brief introduction to IVF
If we do not know or we know what triggers the infertility is always the most successful approach when a woman fails to conceive. IVF helps one to build an atmosphere in which egg fertilizing can be greatly improved. The IVF incorporates sperm and egg combination in a petri dish, which is the term ‘glass’ incubated and closely controlled during fertilization. Within 3 to 5 days, fertilized eggs become embryos. Then the condition of the embryo is tested in order to transfer, freeze, or grow. This whole process is done in the IVF centre in Punjab.
Week 1: First visits and consults
Sometimes the greatest challenge is to get into the office. You are as set, after all your visions, interactions, fears, feelings, and plans. A bold move in the treatment for fertility problems normally includes hundreds of queries. The first move is the opportunity to find genuine answers.
-
Initial Consultation
-
Clinical coordinator consultation
-
Financial consultation for IVF
Week 2-4: preparation Starts
Pretreatment preparation for IVF-: Pre-IVF testing includes:
-
Male fertility testing, including a sperm analysis for sperm motility and count.
-
A blood test
-
Infectious disease screening
-
Uterine evaluation
-
Ultrasounds
Regulate your menstrual cycle and prepare your ovaries.
Week 5: Medication and monitoring
You will initiate a cycle named Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation (COH), as you stop your birth control pill. You have an ultrasonic in the clinic to test the uterus and ovaries, and then that is clear you can begin. The COH cycle consists of two primary components.
-
Take Fertility medications like Clomid and/or injectable follicle stimulation hormones.
-
Monitoring visits-: Ultrasounds and blood tests.
Week 7: Triggering, egg retrieval, and Fertilization
Once the follicles have been tracked after about 10-12 days of the fertility drug, it has become appropriate to cause the final maturation of the eggs with HCG and plan the recovery of the ultrasound egg 36 hours later.
-
Egg retrieval and sperm collection are the day procedure performed in the IVF clinic.
-
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), if your male partner has sperm issues.
-
Egg and sperm are combined in the lab, the process is known as fertilization.
-
Assisted hatching
-
Preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) or diagnosis (PGD)
Embryo Evaluation-: This is done 3-6 days after fertilization to develop the quality embryos.
Embryo or blastocyst transfer-: It is done after 3 days of fertilization, developed embryos are ready for transfer to the woman’s uterus.
After IVF
Following the injection, you need to take a progesterone supplement to support uterine lining and facilitate implantation.
